Buying pet medication works in much the same way as buying human medication. You take your pet to the veterinarian, he or she writes a prescription, and then you get the prescription filled. Usually, the veterinarian will fill the prescription for you, but if you would like to shop around for better prices, there are many pet medication websites available.
Pet medication includes anything from heartworm and flea medication to antibiotics for infections. This medication can be quite expensive but may be cheaper if bought online. Pet insurance is available, but unless your pet is sick often or needs a large operation, isn't very economical.
As with medication for people, keep pet medication out of reach of children and pets. Ask your veterinarian about dosage instructions and follow them closely.
